A considered guide to lip color. Find what works for you.

Our editorial standards.

Good buying advice makes its evidence and its limits visible. These standards apply to every Fragrant lips guide and library entry.

Research is labeled clearly

At launch, the library and journal contain editorial research. We use official brand descriptions for identifiable product features and primary references for historical or regulatory facts. A brand’s performance claim remains a brand claim unless we have tested it. A formula-level consideration is not an observed defect in a particular product.

No invented experience

We do not publish made-up wear times, product scores, before-and-after results, user quotations, medical assurances, or author credentials. Our planned 8–12-product trial has not yet produced results. Product rankings and availability are not assumed from search visibility or old review counts.

How future testing will be reported

Future hands-on reports will name the formula, exact shade, purchase source, and test date. We intend to record application on prepared lips, appearance at baseline and timed intervals, transfer to a clean cup or tissue, an ordinary meal, removal effort, and wearer-reported comfort. Lighting, preparation, and products worn underneath will be documented. Comfort is subjective; a small editorial trial cannot establish universal performance or medical safety.

Illustrations and color

Editorial beauty artwork and original lipstick-format drawings are illustrations. They do not show a named product’s exact packaging, a measured color, an actual swatch, or a trial result. We keep provenance records for visual assets. Real test photographs will be identified separately when available.

Commercial independence

There are no paid product placements at launch. If the website later uses affiliate links, sponsored work, or display advertising, it will disclose the relationship. Payment will not buy an undisclosed positive verdict. Read the commercial disclosure.

Corrections and updates

We aim to review product availability and substantive factual information as the site develops. A date indicates the editorial publication or review date, not a guarantee that a manufacturer’s product description has stayed unchanged. Send a product link and the specific issue to [email protected]. Fretcy receives correction requests.
